After two CDs of mutant rock music, the Newsboy Legion produced "Lawnchair", an album of experimental, electronic music. Unsurprisingly, their take on the genre is unconventional.

"It could be the Legion's magnum opus. The music is moody and eminently strange but utterly fascinating and as addictive as Little Debbie snack cakes.

"This venture to the edge of electronica and beyond was recorded in two cities on cheesy keyboards and assorted other instruments. The songs feature some of the most interesting sound samples from Mike Coleman and Kelly Shane's extensive archives of recorded material. Shane's cat Karloff even contributes surprisingly Thelonius Monk-like keyboard noodlings on one song.

"Coleman has characterized himself and Shane as 'overachievers in deranged music'.

"If that's true, then "Electric Lawnchair" is an overachievement of epic proportions."
