New Albanian Riots
the Cream of the Stars
|
Produced by the Enemy From Space (who claims to not remember doing it), "the Cream of the Stars", the debut release of the New Albanian Riots, delivers 13 swinging instrumental tracks that are sure to appeal to "now" people. Guitarist/Organist Frank Young's songwriting and arranging skills are well showcased in tunes reflecting a variety of styles and moods. Teamed with drummer Kelly Shane and special guest Kenny Howes on bass, Young delivers smooth romanticism and driving rock sure to make you "get with it". Call it "surf", "lounge", "ginchy", "smooth music", "retro" or whatever you want, just don't call it late for dinner, baby.
"It's almost like The Shadows were put in a time capsule in the mid-'60s and released in the '90s to record this CD. The performance and recording quality of this CD is excellent throughout."
"The waves don't get very big on Florida's Gulf coast except during Hurricanes. That doesn't stop this Tallahassee band from throwing up a big wave of surf guitar tunes while they wait for that big Hurricane party. Great for parties and late night study sessions."
"...all the songs the SHADOWS and VENTURES etc NEVER wrote and/or recorded !!! Xtra fresh - super tip for spring/summer '98 !!!"
"Cool!"
"If your taste is for something a little different in the guitar instrumental line..."
"...sure to please those that are collectors of instrumental music. This group seems to be showing their passion, and doing a mighty job. New Albanian Riots is quite entertaining music for throwing a party or kicking back and sipping high balls."
"I don't really know why this CD should exist, but the world is probably a better place now that it is here." |
